Sunday - church and tidal pool day.

On Sunday, we went out for breakfast at a place overlooking Ocean Beach and then went to church. It was nice to sit in the pew with my family and not be in charge of anything.
In the afternoon we went to the tidal pools at Cabrillo National Park.
Here is Evy in the stroller with her new Dora sunglasses.

Larye halfway down the side of the cliff. The tidal pools were at the bottom.
The tidal pools and all the other people who came out to enjoy the wonderful day.
This is really the only way to get your toddler across the rocks and into the water she so desperately wants to put her bare toes into.
Evy posing on the rocks on our way back up the cliff.

Can you tell I like these shots? I couldn't help but take this picture. Their outfits match!

Saturday- Beach Day!

We spent almost all day Saturday at a beach. We started in the morning at Mission Beach where Evy dug in the sand, made sandcastles, and eventually talked Larye into letting her wade into the ocean.

We ate lunch and then headed for Coronado Beach to swim! By the afternoon it was warm and the beach was wonderfully clean and the ocean was cold.

Famous Hotel Coronado

Vacation!

We went to San Diego the Thursday after Ash Wednesday and stayed for five nights. It was warm and wonderful and relaxing. Evy loved all the activities. When she got tired though she'd ask to "go home to the purple house."

I have lots of pictures so I will devote a day to each post.
We got in late Thursday night after barely making our flight out of Minneapolis. So our first day of fun was Friday.
Friday afternoon we went to Old Town which may be where the first people from Mexico settled. It was hard to really figure out the history since we got there just as all the museum buildings were closing. But that is one serious cactus, and some seriously cute family members.

Evy's favorite part of Old Town was the candy shop (we didn't get any pictures because whoever coined the term "bull in a china shop" had never been with a 2-year-old in a candy shop). She also loved the fountain in the town square. Here are the pictures of Evy and the fountain:

Little early February catch-up

Here are some of our photos from Feb.

Evy had a great Valentine's Day. She loved opening all her cards and presents.

Evy also had a great time making all the valentines she sent out. Here she is giving a Martha Stewart-esque description of making valentines.

We finally took Evy to spend her Christmas money. She wanted a baby. Here she is making cribs for her babies, burping her new baby, and putting her back to bed. She also got a stroller for her babies.

Love you...more is coming as I have tons of photos from our vacation.

It's been a while.

Sorry, Christmas and Easter tend to be my busy seasons, so not much got posted for a while. So here are the great pictures from the last month.

Evy is still too little to in the Christmas Program at church so she decided to sit at the piano with an unplugged mic and practice while the big kids practiced.

Santa was at church after the Christmas program.

Christmas Eve Evy in her beautiful dress.
She kept telling the Christmas Tree to say, "Cheese!"

Christmas Eve opening her first gift.
Dancing in her new Christmas jammies.

Christmas morning Evy renewed her love of the candy cane.
Christmas Evening at Granny and Papa's house. Evy and Hunter are playing so nice.

Granny made Evy a butterfly quilt for her big girl bed.

Evy, Lilly and Hunter under the tree on Christmas.

It was warm and snowing at Granny and Papa's house. Perfect for snow angels and sledding.

Evy helping mommy made daddy's birthday cake.

For daddy's birthday Evy had friends over. They wanted to see her big girl room and she wanted to show them her bed. Clockwise from top: Evy, Isla, Oliver, Isaac.

Then we went upstairs to play. Evy and Isaac shared the kitchen well.

Evy got to meet The Cat in the Hat.

She found these in the toy store and made us all wear them.

Evy in her big girl room, after her haircut. Yep, she got her first haircut today. She was so good and sat still. She was wonderful and it wasn't too drastic. She now has bangs.
"Enough!" she said to the paparazzi.

Mommy also got her hair cut tonight. Aren't we cute girls?

Larye got pictures on his phone of the actual hair getting cut (Evy's, not mine). I am hoping her will post them soon. Love you all.

Evy loves her family.

We have been busy visiting family the last couple of weeks. We also have been taking lots of pictures. Here are a few.

We met Ganny and Uncle Chris in Eau Clare and played at the mall. Evy loves her Uncle Chris because he always suggests that we get ice cream. This visit was no different.

Daddy took Evy to see the display at the Macy's downtown. Evy wasn't thrilled. She wasn't terrified. Larye said she just seemed bothered. But they got one cute picture out of the day.

The weekend before Thanksgiving was Deer Hunting Opener in Wisconsin and we went to Granny and Papa's house to visit. Here is Hunter and Uncle Brian and Evy before Uncle Brian left to go to hunting camp.

Granny and Evy made pies for the guys to take to camp.

Evy and Hunter shared a little wake-up snack. Here is Evy before we got her Dora slippers:

And after:

Evy likes to give Uncle Tim kisses so that his teeth don't hurt, but strong painkillers are more effective. For Thanksgiving we traveled to Tyler late on Wednesday night so we could enjoy all of Turkey Day. Grandpa, Evy and Daddy waiting for Mommy to stop taking pictures so we can eat.Evy paid attention to what a good host Grandma was and tried to replicate the service for Felix. Felix did not seem interested in tea.

Yesterday we went a picked out our Christmas tree. Evy had a lot of fun. It was her first time out doing something fun in a week, She had the nasty royavirus and an ear infection. She is now healing wonderfully. We were sad though that we couldn't get a tree with Uncle Chris, but his foot is still healing.

Yesterday and today Evy helped us decorate the tree.

One last story. One night this week when Evy was snuggled into our bed because she woke up with a dirty diaper and a tummy that hurt, she hugged me tight and said, "I wuv my famawee." So consider yourselves loved.

All Hallows Eve

Ooooo...spooky.
So Evy for several months had been wondering around the house saying, "Arr! Find treasure. Arr!" I went to Savers (a second hand clothes store) and found the makings to costume our very own little pirate. I also ordered babylegs from a friend. (Email me and I will send you to her site.) So here are some pictures from last night. We went to the hospital to visit a member of church who had surgery on Thursday and was bummed he thought he wasn't going to see any trick-or-treaters. We also went to Trunk-or-treat at St. Olaf Lutheran Church and then to some friends from Larye's work, Chris and Kathy. We tried to stop a few more places, but no one was home. Sorry we missed you! Following the pirate pictures are the pumpkin carving ones, and the leaf pile ones. Enjoy!

As we drove to Kathy and Chris' Evy was suddenly quiet. I looked back and caught her unwrapping a long Tootsie roll. Here is her, Mommy caught me, look.

Evy in leaves

Can you find Evy?
